Prop 8 was OVERTURNED yesterday!
This is a huge step for Marriage Equality, and since it marks a major victory for people who believe in equal rights for all, it also directly effects the purpose and focus of the film I'm currently editing: "The Right to Love: An American Family".
We've been capturing all the rallies, protests, and news footage over the past 48 hours. I can't say I'm surprised at how divided this country is becoming, but what makes me saddest is how people who preach love in the name of God are so readily willing to spread lies supported only by hate.
The more I edit "The Right to Love" and see these same-sex couples and these FAMILIES exuding love in everything they do, I wonder: how can this be wrong?
I hope this documentary will not be a film on arguments of faith versus studies, but a film showing the humanity behind this issue, and why it's only common sense for a society that wants peace and love to prevail, Marriage Equality is the only logical step in the right direction.
I pray for Marriage Equality.
