I opened that email with every expectation to be another Festival rejection letter like the dozens of other emails I have received, and to FINALLY know that someone watched my documentary, and thought "I'm gonna give this film a chance, and try to convince my colleages to also give this film a chance"... wow. Just, wow.
I cannot thank San Diego Indiefest enough for taking a chance on our little film that could (did). This will be the second screening of "Daddy I Do" since it's World Premiere last month when it took home the award for Best Documentary! yay!
I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to show more people the film, and hopefully word-of-mouth will spread like wildfire for more festival opportunities to come.
